Movistar, the Spanish operator with the country\'s most extensive LTE network, has made all its tariff plans 4G compatible, removing any limitations previously in place. As a result, all of the operator’s tariff plans, including its convergent Fusion packs, now offer 4G services. The plans range from Movistar Zero, which comes with 500 MB of mobile data at 4G speeds, unlimited calls (EUR 0.18 set-up fee payable) and 500 SMS for EUR 10.89 per month, to Movistar Total, which includes 1.5 GB in mobile data at 4G speeds plus unlimited calls and SMS for EUR 42.35 per month.

Movistar provides 4G services to 50 percent of the Spanish population and plans to cover 106 municipalities by mid-2014. Its 4G services are currently deployed on the 1,800 MHz band as it waits for the Spanish government to free up the 800 MHz frequencies.
