China Mobile version of iPhone hits the market

China Mobile officially launched the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C handsets on Friday. Xi Guohua, chairman of China Mobile, and Tim Cook, Apple\'s chief executive officer, gifted signed iPhones to ten customers at a China Mobile shop in Beijing.

Xi said that the number of pre-orders for China Mobile\'s iPhone devices - in a 20-day period - exceeded 1 million, adding that this shows that many customers like China Mobile’s network as well as Apple’s handsets. He also said that the IPhone 5S and iPhone 5C support China Mobile’s 2G, 3G /TD-SCDMA, 4G/TD-LTE, and WLAN networks and are available for LTE FDD and WCDMA networks that allow international roaming.

“Today is just the beginning of China Mobile and Apple coming together to deliver the best experience in the world,” Cook said as a few dozen people came in to look at the iPhones on display."Apple and China Mobile can do a lot more things together," Cook said. "I really see today as a beginning, not the end. Our work just begins."

China Mobile is building the world’s largest 4G network, with 500,000 stations to be completed by the end of 2014 and subscribers in more than 340 cities will be able to enjoy the 4G services.
