Nokia Solutions and Networks has reached an agreement with the Finnish telecoms operator Elisa to supply its next-generation mobile broadband network, under a five-year contract for the 2014-18 period, LteWorld reported on Thursday.

At the beginning of this year, the Finnish operator opened its 800-MHz LTE network and wanted a fast build-out of nationwide coverage, including rural areas. The contract calls for NSN to upgrade its network management system to integrate the operator’s LTE network with the existing framework. It will use Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Stations to support Elisa’s network across all technologies and bring it scale capacity based on customer needs. The agreement also covers care services with active software support, hardware, and competence development.
