Broadcom Corp, the American semiconductor company, and Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) have given a demonstration of their LTE Advanced (LTE-A) Category 6 (Cat 6), carrier aggregation data rates of 300 Mbps on a commercial network of the Finnish operator Elisa, LteWorld reported on Tuesday.

The demonstration used Elisa\'s commercial LTE network, in Finland, with Broadcom\'s LTE-A Cat 6 technology, with inter-band carrier aggregation, and an NSN Flexi Multiradio 10 base station. The test was an aggregation of two 20 MHz channels, in the 1800 MHz band (LTE Band 3), and 2600 MHz band (LTE Band 7), reaching speeds of 300 Mbps.

Elisa opened its 800 MHz LTE network, in January of this year, with cooperation form NSN.

Broadcom plans to show its LTE-A Cat 6 data rates on NSN infrastructure, at the Mobile World Congress show, in Barcelona, Spain, Feb 24-27.
