Alcatel-Lucent, the French global telecommunications equipment company, with headquarters in Paris, has supplied an end-to-end 4G LTE network for Claro Uruguay, a division of the wireless service provider America Movil, which will be fully operational in the city of Montevideo, this February, Lteworld reported on Tuesday.

The new network uses Alcatel-Lucent\'s end-to-end LTE and IP Networking technology and is part of America Movil\'s greater Latin America 4G introduction. Claro Uruguay is deploying an end-to-end 4G LTE solution that includes eNodeB, MME, OSS, and related services, across Montevideo, with additional sites being introduced across the country this year.

The advanced LTE network is an overlay on the existing 3G and will allow for such services such as HD video with Video on Demand.
