Nextel seeks partner for Argentina 4G services
In spite of a refusal by the Argentinean government to assign Nextel the frequencies for its 3G telephone services, the operator has decided to expand its presence locally through 4G services based on LTE technology, reports Telecompaper, citing iProfesional.
A Nextel source explained that the existing network would be compatible with the new standard so it won’t face high implementation costs. The focus will be on expanding bandwidth and new value-added services, along with data transmission. The company is now looking for a technology partner to help with certain operational details.
