Huawei, China’s information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, and Broadnet, a leading Norwegian provider of fiber-based data communications, have announced the start of Scandinavia’s first, and Europe’s biggest, IP core network for commercial use of 400-G technology.

The Huawei NE5,000E 400-G core router allows flexible sub-cards to be removed and re-installed and supports flexible combinations of 100-GE, 40-GE, and 10-GE boards, with smooth extension to Terabit/s-level capability for each slot. The Huawei router will help Broadnet make optimal use of network architecture and make it more flexible, reduce bandwidth cost of each bit, and improve the customer’s experience.
