Nova Iceland extends 3G/4G coverage
Nova, Iceland’s second largest operator by subscribers, has announced that it has expanded coverage of its 3G HSPA+ and Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, reports Telegeography.com, explaining that the operator has installed new 3G+ base transceiver stations (BTS) in Frodarheidi, Husavikurfjall, Reykjahlid Myvatn, Skutustadir Myvatn, Smjorholsfell, Talknafjordur and Porshof, while the 4G LTE footprint was extended to Drekagil, Hafnarstraeti and Mimisbraut.
At the end of this March, Nova’s HSPA+ network was present in Reykjavik, Thingvellir, Vopnafjordur, Dalvik, Hafnarfjordur, Akureyri, Namaskard, while mobile broadband access over Nova’s LTE network was available in the entire Reykjavik area, Arborg, Reykjanesbaer, Akureyri, Skorradale and Grimsnesi.
