Telcel implements iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange
Mexican mobile telephony operator Telcel has implemented iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) to provide LTE data roaming to its subscribers while in Brazil for the FIFA World Cup, Telecompaper.com reports, adding that Telcel and iBasis plan to activate approximately 30 more LTE roaming destinations over the next six months.
Telcel is owned by Mexican operator America Movil and has nearly 73 million subscribers. It currently has 500,000 subscribers in the LTE segment. iBasis offers a global LTE Roaming coverage that reaches approximately 100 LTE networks through a single IPX interconnection that supports multiple voice and data services.
