Sony Mobile Communications plans to adopt Taiwan chipmaker MediaTek\'s 64-bit quad-core solution, the MT6732, for production of entry-level and mid-range 4G LTE smartphones, Digitimes reports, citing industry sources. The smartphones are expected to be delivered next year, Telecompaper.com reported on July 1, 2014.

Taiwan-based handset ODMs, including Arima Communications, Compal Communications and FIH Mobile, are currently manufacturing 4G LTE smartphones for Sony Mobile using smartphone solutions from chipmaker Qualcomm.
