Archos has cut the price of its 45 Helium 4G LTE phone from 169 euro to 99 euro, and has provided massive availability at online and high street stores to compete at this new price point with the Wiko Kite LTE phone, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 3, 2014. Archos CEO Loic Poirier told Les Numeriques that after launching its first smartphone, the 50 Platinum, in the fourth quarter of 2013, it now has around 10 smartphones in its range. Smartphones represent 20 percent of the group\'s revenue. Archos sees itself as a challenger to Wiko in the French market, he said. The company has launched its first ever TV advertising campaign and formed a partnership with the French Football Federation to increase its visibility. It will keep running its "satisfied or your money back" offer until the end of September, even on the low-cost 45 Helium 4G. Poirier added that it is not losing money in its effort to win market share by selling the phone at under 100 euro. Several tens of thousands of units are now available for sale.
