Ollo taps ZTE for 4G LTE network deployment in Bangladesh
Bangladesh Internet Exchange Limited (BIEL), which operates under the Ollo brand name, has selected ZTE for the deployment of a 4G LTE network, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 16, 2014. On 3 September, Ollo received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) for the import of equipment and an LTE network rollout. ZTE will deploy a 3GPP standard EPC (Evolved packet core) network, VAS (value added services) network and LTE mobile communications involving over 1,100 LTE base stations across the country. Ollo initially started an LTE network trial in April in Dhaka using ZTE equipment. As part of the second phase of the project, the network coverage will be expanded to reach all 7 divisional headquarters and 20 other major district cities.
