Orange Romania has upgraded its 4G network to LTE Advanced and is offering speeds up to 300 Mbps in six cities, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 19, 2014. The faster service is available in Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Galati, Iasi and Timisoara for customers with the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the Huawei E5786 modem. Orange has been testing the service in its shops there since April. From 22 September, 4G+ access will be included free on Panther and Business Open plans.

Orange is also introducing a data bonus for all customers extending a contract. For every year they have been an Orange customer, they receive one month of 1GB data free. In addition, the operator announced the launch of 4G services in the Bucharest metro and 200 new municipalities. The LTE service is now available in more than 1,300 municipalities, covering 48 percent of the population.
