Kazakhstan operator Altel, a subsidiary of the national operator Kazakhtelecom, has launched commercial operations of its LTE network in the cities of Zhezkazgan, Rudny and Kulsary, Telecompaper.com tells us on Oct 9, 2014. Some 7.2 million Kazakhstan residents are currently under the coverage of the Altel LTE network. The network is currently available in 20 cities and their suburbs across the country.
