Under an agreement with the Guadeloupe-based Loret Group and with Caribbean Fibre Holdings, Digicel Group will acquire a submarine fibre network across the Caribbean region, including Middle Caribbean Network, Southern Caribbean Fibre, Antilles Crossings and a number of related assets from Global Caribbean Fibre.

Digicel will secure in total from the deal a network comprised of 15 submarine segments with a reach of 3,100 kilometres across the Caribbean region, including a wholly-owned submarine fibre optic cable network of approximately 2,100 kilometres. The deal will provide capacity from Trinidad to Guadeloupe, and submarine fibre capacity from Guadeloupe to Puerto Rico, with onwards connectivity to the US mainland. Financial terms of the transaction remain private.
