The Indian operator Bharti Airtel has said it won a bid for 115.0 MHz of spectrum for a cost of INR185.30 billion ($2.97 billion) in a recent spectrum auction, Telecompaper reported on Thursday. Bharti is to make an upfront payment of R54.25 billion, with the balance to be paid in 10 installments annually, starting in two years. The operator said it plans to deploy 4G networks in various areas using FD-LTE technology in the 1800 MHz band, in addition to its existing TD-LTE roll-out in the 2300 MHz band.
