Kazakhstan operator Altel has begun switching its Jet internet service subscribers to the LTE network in the city of Temirtau, Telecompaper reports. The replacement of the Jet USB modem with an LTE device, which is available at the operator\'s two shops in the city, costs 1,100 tenge ($6.05) until March 31, rising to 1,650 tenge on April 1.

Altel launched its LTE services in the cities of Astana and Almaty in September 2013, with coverage extending to Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shymkent last December.
