Russian mobile operator MTS could get frequencies in the 1,800 MHz band for testing LTE-Advanced in the Primorye region. The State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SRFC) plans to make a decision on the issue on March 26, reports Telecompaper quoting Digit.ru.

Testing would be carried out starting June 1, 2015. The operator would test the aggregation of the 1,800 MHz frequencies with spectrum on the 2,600 MHz band it already holds. The Primorye region was chosen because equipment from Huawei that supports LTE-Advanced is already installed there.
