Verizon Wireless chooses Alcatel-Lucent SDM for LTE Expansion
The US carrier Verizon Wireless has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s Subscriber Data Manager (SDM) to help it manage data traffic, as the 4G LTE network grows, LteWorld reports. Alcatel-Lucent says that SDM is part of its Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) portfolio and will help centralize many individual databases across Verizon’s 4G LTE and 3G networks. Back in 2009, Alcatel-Lucent was named a key IMS supplier for Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network, and has been providing other IMS services since then.
Verizon is using a comprehensive subscriber data management solution that includes Alcatel-Lucent’s SDM, a Motive Authentication, Authorization and Accounting Server, a Centralized Operations Manager, and SDM Expert systems as well as the VoLTE set.
