The Belgian mobile network operator Mobistar has confirmed that, as of March 31, customers signed to its Dolphin, Panther, Internet Everywhere and Internet on Mobile plans will be able to use their mobile data usage allowance on its 4G network at no extra cost. Business customers with data allowances will also be able to use these for 4G access. Along with details of its 4G network pricing, the cellco has said it intends to offer indoor coverage of at least 50 percent of the population, in 270 cities by the end of this March, reports TeleGeography. Furthermore, around 800 of the country’s 2,616 cities will have 4G outdoor coverage of at least 50 percent of the population at that date.

Mobistar started access to its LTE network in 30 cities and towns across the country, in November 2013, with all existing customers with a tariff that covered mobile data initially given access the faster speeds for free. Subscribers with a compatible device – either smartphone or tablet – who registered for its ‘4G Discovery’ scheme were given an additional 4-G data allowance on top of their existing usage caps to allow them to try out the LTE network.
