The Colombian operator UNE expects to increase its LTE subscriber base by 30 percent this year, Telecompaper reports, citing UNE president Marc Eichmann, who told La Republica that they finished 2013 with 200,000 LTE subscribers and will focus on 4G service expansion to those without a fixed internet connection now. Eichmann also said UNE plans to increase sales of its MiFi products and its fixed mobile offering.

UNE has set its capex for this year at 500 billion pesos ($25 million), he added. By the end of 2013, it had 180,000 homes and approximately 1 million potential customers and plans to reach over 500,000 households and 2.5 million users this year.
