The number of people subscribing to mobile phone services in Germany rose to around 115 million, in 2013, from 113 million the previous year, reports Telecompaper, citing operator data from the Federal Network Agency (BnA). The growth was said to be driven by strong smartphone and tablet use of the mobile Internet, with each German having, on average, around 1.4 SIM cards. The number of LTE customers increased to 5.6 million, in 2013, up from 1 million at the end of 2012.
