Brazilian regional operator On Telecom has initiated a fixed wireless Internet service based on TD-LTE mobile network (in the 2.5 GHz band), in Nova Odessa in the Campinas region, Telecompaper reports quoting Teletime. Besides offering plans for end-users, the company will provide free Internet connections to the municipal library and three municipal schools: EMEF Dante Gazetta, EMEF Paulo Azenha and EMEFEI Vereador Osvaldo Luiz da Silva.

According to On, Nova Odessa is one of the first cities to get its 4G service. It expects to expand the coverage in the coming months to another 20 cities. For residential customers, the monthly subscription plans vary from 59.90 real ($25.77) for service at 5 Mbps with a 10 GB allowance per single user, to 169.90 real for 15 Mbps service and a 60 GB allowance for multiple users.
