New Zealand mobile operator 2degrees has started a three-month 4G trial in Auckland, reports Telecompaper, which involves 10 sites in central Auckland using the company\'s 1,800 MHz spectrum.

The operator looks to open commercial LTE services in July in central Auckland, followed by the wider Auckland region and other main centers - Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch - by the end of the year. The rollout of 4G to provincial areas will begin in 2015.
