Mobitel, a branch of Slovenia’s dominant telecom group Telekom Slovenije, has announced that its 4G LTE network coverage has reached 60 percent of the population, one year after commercial launch, TeleGeography reports. Mobitel has upgraded its LTE network to provide maximum peak data speeds of up to 150Mbps download/50Mbps upload.

Currently, LTE network usage is available free of additional charge to all post- and pre-paid mobile Internet users with speeds capped at 21.6Mbps/5.76Mbps (“LTE/4G 20”). For 6 euro ($8.27) per month, LTE access is offered at up to 100Mbps or 150Mbps download (depending on location and device) and up to 50Mbps upload (“LTE/4G 100”). Certain phone packages have LTE/4G 100 already included in the monthly fee. Thirty-five LTE devices are currently on offer, including tablet computers, cell phones, USB modems and MiFi routers. Devices supporting 150Mbps currently include: Smartphone LG G Flex, Nokia Lumia 1520, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Edition 2014 and Huawei E5776s MiFi modem.
