Telia users get HD Voice
TeliaSonera Sweden (Telia) has announced the commercial launch of HD Voice on its mobile network, a technology that enhances the sound quality of mobile voice calls, reports TeleGeography.
The operator’s website claims that “with HD, Voice calls are perceived as clearer, more natural and create a feeling of closeness with the one you are talking to. A major difference to a normal voice [call] is that HD Voice reduces background noise.” The feature became available across Sweden from March 25, and Telia noted that most recent mobile phone models will allow the user to access HD Voice calls automatically. This week the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reported that 100 mobile network operators in 71 countries now offer commercial HD Voice.
