Global telecommunications infrastructure provider UTStarcom has launched its latest MPLS-TP and carrier Ethernet-based packet optical transport network, reports Telecompaper. The company has formally launched its TN765 packet optical transport product, enhancing its TN700 product suite.

UTStarcom\'s latest broadband technology services are geared specifically toward the advanced needs of telecommunications and broadband service provider customers that need to enhance their LTE network capabilities and meet growing needs for video and on demand entertainment. The TN765 builds on the attributes and features of UTStarcom\'s TN700 suite, adding enhanced throughput of 1Tbps to support higher aggregation levels, 100GE interface support and multiple 10GE interfaces for more efficient network deployment.

Shipments of the TN765 began earlier in March for its first commercial deployment. It will be used to support the network of a tier-one carrier in Japan.
