PLDT tests TD-LTE service at dozens of sites
Philippines Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) has tested mobile broadband services via TD-LTE technology, at more than 200 pilot sites nationwide, with the focus on rural parts of the country, Telecompaper.com writes, adding that the operator has put PHP2-billion ($45.1 million) into TD-LTE deployment across the Philippines.
This service, PLDT Home Bro Ultera, will appear in key areas, such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Aurora, Cagayan, Abra, and Nueva Vizcaya, on northern and central Luzon; Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Sorsogon, and Palawan, in southern Luzon; Aklan, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, and Leyte in the Visayas; and Misamis Oriental, Zamboanga del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Sultan Kudarat, on Mindanao.
