Mobile operator Tele2 Latvia has announced that it has 25 new base stations in various parts of the city of Riga, reports Telecompaper.com, which explains that the operator currently runs 419 3G, LTE, and GSM base stations in Riga, the capital, with new base stations also added around it, in Garkalne, Vangazi, Cekule and Babite.

The operator has built 240 new 3G base stations in all, across the country, under a network expansion project, at a cost of €9 million ($12.5 million). Tele2 says it plans to provide LTE services to 70 percent of the country, by 2015.
