Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has started commercial LTE services in Stavropol and Rostov, Telecompaper.com reports, noting that the services based on FDD LTE are provided in the 2,600 MHz band. Some 85 percent of the area of Stavropol and 62 percent of Rostov are covered by the 4G network, offering speeds over 70 Mbps to subscribers there.

Beeline has LTE networks operational in Moscow, St Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Astrakhan and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and in the Altay, Kalmykia, Ingushetia, Adygeya and Chuvashia republics. The operator plans to initiate LTE services in Barnaul, Samara, Kazan, Oryol and Tambov, as well as the Moscow region and Khakasia and Mordovia republics in the coming months.
