Lantiq reports the availability of a joint Intel platform for fixed LTE broadband router designs, of up to 300-Mbps, using Intel\'s latest Cat6 capable LTE platform, Telecompaper.com informs us, adding that the co-developed reference platform puts the Intel XMM 7260 LTE communications platform together with Lantiq\'s GRX330 Communications Processor to address the problem of growing market demand for fixed LTE broadband services.

The new platform provides carrier aggregation of up to 40-Mhz, with support for up to 23 CA combinations in one SKU, category 6 speeds - 300 Mbps theoretical peak downlink - and supports more than 30 3GPP bands - 21 bands simultaneously in a single SKU - and global network standards (LTE FDD/TDD, WCDMA/HSPA+, TD-SCDMA/TD-HSPA/EDGE). In addition, the Lantiq GRX330 processor has a full Gigabit Ethernet router design, using a dedicated acceleration engine to maximize Wi-Fi throughput.

Lantiq will demonstrate the joint reference design at Computex 2014.
