Vodafone 4G coming to five more UK cities

UK mobile operator Vodafone announced that its 4G network was being expanded to cover five more UK cities, which means it will soon serve one million more customers, Theinquirer.net reports.

Vodafone said that later this summer it will switch on 4G for both homes and businesses in Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Reading and Southampton, after the network’s recent arrival in Manchester, Yorkshire and Tyne & Wear.

The operator boasted that once it arrives in these five new locations its network will be available to an additional one million people, along with 35,000 businesses.

However, as Theinquirer observed, the network is still a long way from catching up with EE, which switched on its LTE network in October 2012, with Vodafone and O2 going live in April 2013.
