Omnitel 4G covers half of Lithuanians
Omnitel, a TeliaSonera subsidiary and Lithuania’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, has announced that its 4G LTE network now reaches 50 percent of the population, reports Telegeography.com, adding that the company started LTE mobile broadband services in downtown areas of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys, back in April 2011.
Since then, the network has expanded to several dozen of the country’s largest towns and cities, including Palanga, Nida, Svencionys, Moletu, Jonava, Sirvintos, Silale, Kryzioku, Jurbarke, Taurageje, Sakiuose, Alytus, Birstonas, Druskininkai, Varena, Marijampole, Simnas, Kalvarija, Lazdijai, Salcininkai, and Pilviskiuose.
