Japanese mobile operator SoftBank plans to cut its smartphone charges through the offering of a flat rate for unlimited voice calls and cheaper data plans, Telecompaper.com reports, quoting Reuters, adding that the new rates are expected to take effect in July.

SoftBank will also offer its users the possibility to roll over unused data to the next month or to share them with relatives. It plans to provide special offers or discounts for family plans, long-term users and subscribers aged 25 and under.

Earlier this month, rival operator NTT Docomo introduced a billing plan and two discount services for users of its 3G Foma and LTE Xi mobile networks.
