Telenor Global Services and Vodafone Carrier Services reach IPX and 4G agreement
Telenor Global Services (TGS), the international carrier arm of Norway’s Telenor Group, and the UK’s Vodafone Carrier Services have announced an Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) Interconnect and an LTE/4G Peering Agreement, Telegeography.com reports.
In announcing the news, TGS said that the “family-to-family partnership” was strategically important for both parties since it allows both to expand their respective LTE/4G global footprint, while showing the importance of mobile operators within the IPX Eco-system.
In commenting on the deal, Bjorn Iversen, CEO of TGS, noted, “Through the Telenor Global Services and Vodafone partnership, mobile operators can easily expand their global business through IP services, via a single, private, secure IP interconnection. And this direct-interconnect, peering agreement allows for faster connections and the best quality IP.”
