Nokia Networks completed successful Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call testing using Zain’s commercial LTE network in Kuwait, Lteworld.org reports, noting that Nokia Networks used its VoLTE solution, and services expertise to successfully conduct the project which involved making and receiving HD voice calls while simultaneously accessing data services over the LTE network.

Nokia Networks’ VoLTE solution consisted of its IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Subscriber Data Management, and Open Telecommunications Application Server (TAS). Open TAS provides supplementary services for voice, messaging, and video sessions in LTE and other broadband networks.

In addition, the company’s Professional Services for VoLTE helped the operator ready the network all the way from architecture and design to end-to-end multi-vendor integration.
