Peruvian telecoms operator Telefonica del Peru, a subsidiary of Spanish operator Telefonica, has already reached 100,000 subscribers for its 4G service, reports Telecompaper.com quoting company president Javier Manzanares.

The operator activated 4G LTE services in the country seven months ago. The service is currently available in 27 districts of the capital Lima and in certain areas in Arequipa and Trujillo. Telefonica said it plans to soon start the 4G service in Piura and Chiclayo. The total Investment in the deployment of LTE technology is expected to reach $400 million.
