Vanuatu begins spectrum consultation

2014-06-30 16:06:32| Source:

Vanuatu’s telecoms watchdog, the Telecommunications and Radio-communications Regulator (TRR), has opened the allocation of spectrum for fixed telecoms services in the country to public commentary, reports Telegeography.com, noting that a published document gives suggested frequency bands for fixed microwave systems, and bands that should be set aside for the provision of universal satellite, mobile voice and broadband services.

Under its proposal, the TRR expects to allocate the 1500MHz and 5GHz–22GHz frequency bands for fixed microwave point-to-point services, while the 1800MHz, 1930MHz–1980MHz/2110MHz –2170MHz, 2300MHz–2450MHz and 2500MHz–2690MHz frequency bands will be kept for future mobile broadband use. Everyone is invited to submit their comments and proposals until July 28, 2014.
