MTN reaches subscriber milestone
MTN Cameroon, the country’s mobile market leader, has announced that it signed up its 10-millionth customer, on June 17, up from the 9.24 million, at the end of March, Telegeography.com reports, noting that the South African-owned company says that around 60 percent of Cameroonians that own a mobile phone use MTN.
In a statement on social media, MTN Cameroon said it has “equipped the country with a state-of-the-art, extended communications network that democratizes access to telephony, contributes towards the development of the remotest areas and improves the competitiveness of businesses”. It pledged to continue investing in telecoms in Cameroon and further develop simple, innovative and affordable communications solutions.
