Aviat Networks announced it received a $19 million purchase order for a public safety communications backhaul system, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 5, 2014. The project includes IP-based microwave products and all associated engineering, installation, post-sales support and extended warranty services. As with many of the company\'s public safety contracts, revenue will be recognized over several quarters. The customer is a county in the US that is overhauling its current network with a P25 digital system for first responder communications. In addition, the county\'s system will be able to join the state\'s public safety network and the nationwide First Responder LTE Network.
