TIM expands LTE network to 210 localities in Lombardy
TIM said its LTE “Ultra Internet 4G” service covered 210 municipalities in the northern Italian region of Lombardy at the beginning of August, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 5, 2014. In March, the company covered 137 municipalities in the same area, which includes Milan. TIM\'s LTE service, which offers theoretical maximum speeds of 100 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads, now covers 1,138 Italian municipalities nationwide, up from the 651 announced in February. The company expects to cover all cities with over 35,000 inhabitants by the end of 2014.
