Brazilian operator On Telecom is continuing to expands its offering of fixed broadband over the LTE mobile network, reported Telecompaper.com on Aug 12, 2014. The operator is currently present in 32 cities in the state of Sao Paulo and has about 25,000 subscribers, an increase of over 28 percent compared with June, according to Anatel figures that put its number of connections at 19,435.

Speaking during the ABTA pay-TV fair, the director of operations of the company, Carlos Andre Albuquerque, said On Telecom plans to expand to other Brazilian states next year. He said On Telecom has the strongest presence in Campinas, which covers municipalities with 10,000 to 15,000 homes. On Telecom has been using TD-LTE technology to reach users, with speeds of 5 Mbps, 10 Mbps and 15 Mbps, which is sufficient for most of the user base. The operator\'s infrastructure consists of 210 sites linked via a 2,500-fiber optic network backhaul.
