The number of LTE base stations in Russia grew by 74 percent in the first half of this year, reports Vedomosti, citing a statement from the federal telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor. The total increased from 12,364 to 21,573 base stations at the end of June. Mobile operator Megafon owned 10,302 LTE base stations at end-June, MTS operated around 7,500 LTE base stations, and Beeline had the least, at almost three times less than those of Megafon. On 3G networks, a total 85,211 base stations were operational in Russia at the end of June.
