Philippines mobile operator Smart Communications has introduced LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology in the city of Cebu, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 15, 2014. The operator initially introduced LTE-A technology in the Philippines in mid-August at the Smart Jump Center in Mandaluyong City. Smart now switched on LTE-A during the 10th Asian Carriers Conference (ACC) at Shangri-La Mactan. Hosted by PLDT, Smart, and Digital Telecommunications Philippines, the ACC is attended by over 1,500 delegates from telecoms operators around the world. Smart recorded speeds of over 100 Mbps at the Cebu event. It started testing LTE-A across the country in August 2013, delivering speeds of more than 100Mbps in Makati City, Boracay, and Davao City.
