Mobile operator Vodafone Czech Republic has released an update on its ongoing 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) rollout in the country, Telegeography.com reported on Sept 26, 2014. By early September 2014 its ‘Turbo Internet’ (i.e. fast mobile internet working on LTE frequencies of 800MHz, 900MHz and 1800MHz) was available to 87% of the population and 67% of the territory of the Czech Republic. Moreover, by the end of this month it plans to cover a significant part of Prague with its LTE-1800 network, as well as using LTE-800 in its environs, while the city centre will see the first deployments of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) base stations too. The 1800MHz network will deliver peak theoretical downloads speeds of 110Mbps, while LTE-800 is expected to achieve a maximum throughput of 75Mps. The theoretical peak download for LTE-A in select locations in the centre of Prague will be 185Mbps, it said.
