Telefonica of Spain plans to invest MXN3 billion (USD225 million) in its Movistar Mexico unit during 2015, as the company seeks to extend its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to 300 cities by the end of next year, reported Telegeography.com on Sept 26, 2014. According to business daily El Financiero, the company expects to cover abour 50 cities by the end of 2014, increasing to 70% of the country within the next three years. Earlier this week Movistar announced that it had finished its 4G rollout in Distrito Federal.
