Entel Bolivia to invest $10.3 million in Pando

Bolivian state-run telecoms operator Entel plans to invest $10.3 million for the deployment of mobile base stations, fiber optic infrastructure and LTE services in Pando department, reports Telecompaper.com on Oct 15, 2014. Entel will deploy 190 kilometers of fiber optic in Pando, which will require a total investment of $ 1.9 million, according to the report. According to recent reports, the telco already has 42 mobile base stations in Pando. In 2008, when the telco was nationalized by the government of President Evo Morales, the operator had 5 mobile base stations in the department.
