Hungarian operator Magyar Telekom is aiming to cover 80 percent of the population with 4G mobile internet in early 2015 and 93 percent by the end of 2015, said CEO Christopher Mattheisen, reports Telecompaper.com on Oct 17, 2014. According to him, as soon as it started using the frequencies awarded during the recent tender, the operator connected 450 additional 4G base stations, increasing outdoor LTE coverage from 54 percent to around 73 percent. At the same time, Magyar Telekom has increased the nominal download speed, providing customers with mobile internet with speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The operator currently has over 250,000 4G customers.
