In 2014, some 600,000 Taiwan mobile subscribers are expected to switch to 4G services. This number is forecast to hit 8.1 million by 2015 as the quality of 4G services improves,Telecompaper reported on Monday citing research results by IDC.

Chunghwa Telecom is predicted to be the first operator to offer 4G services in the coming year. The research firm further expects 4G operators to employ a tier-pricing strategy, instead of the unlimited plans that are currently used for 3G services. Pricing is expected to come in at TWD 1,500 to 2,000 for 5GB of data per month.
