Altel expands LTE footprint to six new cities
Altel, the subsidiary company of Kazakhstan\'s state-backed operator Kazakhtelecom (KT), announced that it has expanded its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to six new cities, namely Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shymkent, TeleGeography reported on Monday.
Altel first launched its 4G network in December 2012 in the cities of Astana and Almaty. Coverage was further extended to a number of satellite towns around the two cities in July 2013.
